So……………….. did today end like it began? I mean, did the same people leave your house this morning and come home tonight………………it’s not that way for my friend Liz and her husband Kevin……………………. instead, a state trooper came to Liz’s door and knocked…………..Kevin called her earlier, he’d run out of gas on the way home. He didn’t answer his phone anymore when she called him back………………the trooper told her why………………………….the funeral was Monday. His 19 year old, 15 year old, 8 year old and newborn along with Liz are left without him………………………………..they will need the help of people who claim Christ as our savior. Christ commands us to help the widows…………and orphans……………………and here is an opportunity…………..call me, I know how you can help her if you’d like to. What is Christ telling your heart to do? Only you know what he’s saying to you. But when you lay your head down tonight and someone is breathing beside you…………..snoring, even………..count them……………..every snore, every sigh………………..every blessing…………..count them……………..Kevin was 37. A hard worker, worked at the same place for 13 or so years, in the military before that…………………….father to 4. I know them because of their oldest, actually he’s Kevin’s step-son but you wouldn’t know he was anything but a son of Kevin’s………….. oh, he gave kevin and Liz a run for their money sometimes, but they were there for him…………….. Kevin was there. And now he’s not………….not on purpose…………………but he’s gone…………..The media said, ” a 27 year old woman from Cabot hit a pedistrian today on Hwy 67-167………….” His teenage daughter said it so well……………………………mama, he wasn’t a pedistrian, he was somebody………….. Yeah he was, he was her daddy…………………………………………..he was a husband…………………….he was a friend……………he was a good man………………………..
Count them tonight my friends, count the breaths of your children, your husband, your wife and all those you love………… and count all your blessings, thank God for them ………………
